August 12 meeting will have Speaker : Our own DNN Member - David McMullen
“Learning to Love XAML”
As the workhorse for WPF, Silverlight, Blend and Workflow, XAML is the wave of the future for .NET. This presentation will demonstrate how XAML supports a WPF insurance billing app using LINQ to SQL and both ReportViewer and CrystalReportViewer. Since Silverlight 3 does not yet directly support printing (though it’s supposed to be LOB!), this ClickOnce desktop app is a way to compare the two WinForms-within-WPF reporting controls that may eventually find their way into both WPF and Silverlight. Though this topic doesn’t involve DNN, it helps prepare the way for integrating Silverlight 3 into DNN.
